Launch of TDO-3 and TDO-4 with SBIRS Geo-5

The EZ-3 & 4 integrated flight system flew on Atlas V Centaur alongside the SBIRS Geo-5 primary spacecraft, demonstrating satellite swap-out two weeks before launch.

The EZ-3 & 4 integrated flight system was successfully launched on the Atlas V Centaur with the SBIRS Geo-5 primary spacecraft. Adaptive Launch Solutions designed, tested and integrated the flight system in partnership with Parsons Government Services, under contract with the U.S. Space Force Space and Missile Systems Center’s Launch Enterprise Mission Manifest Office.

The flight system comprised an adapter plate, isolators, and canisterized dispensers carrying the TDO-3 & 4 small satellites. These government-sponsored payloads supplied critical experimental data demonstrating space warfighting flexibility through expedited integration and swap-out of satellites late in processing.

The SBIRS Geo-5 mission showed that capability by holding two qualified, compatible multi-manifest satellite vehicles ready for substitution as late as two weeks before launch. Against a traditional satellite integration timeline of roughly 24 months, it is a further example of ALS and the U.S. Space Force driving integration flexibility and responsiveness into National Security Space planning.
